How many sessions a week do
I need to see results?
Clients
taking two to three sessions a week experience increased core strength, better posture and improved muscle tone in just
a few weeks. Greater results are achieved with continuity and consistency over time.
What if I don't have the time to come to the studio three times a week?
Once a week is better than none at all. Though not as quickly, you
will still see improvements and increased body awareness. For visible body changes, however, training two to three
times a week is necessary. Once clients have learned the mat routine, they are encouraged to work out on their
own to supplement studio sessions.
What if I can't afford taking two to three private sessions a week?
Take one private a week, and throw in a mat class or two into your weekly
training schedule. Pilates at its purest, a mat class will leave your abdominals and whole body tingling.
Is pilates an aerobic work-out?
Pilates provides deep, efficient muscle fitness. However, more advanced clients will be able to keep
their heart rate elevated as the flow and vigour of sessions intensifies.
Do
I need to be fit to start pilates?
No.
Pilates can be adapted to people of all ages and fitness levels. It will most definitely make you fitter and
stronger.
Can pilates help me with injury prevention and rehabilitation?
Yes, pilates is a very safe form of exercise. All of
exercises emphasise initating movement from the centre of the body and focus on proper form and alignment. Core strength is
essential for supporting the back and preventing injuries.
Does
pilates provide a full-body work-out?

Can
I do Pilates during pregnancy?
Pilates is the perfect regimen to prepare your body for pregnancy and to remain flexible and strong while you are
carrying. If you have not yet trained in the pilates method prior to conception, it is not recommended that
you begin after you become pregnant. However, pilates is ideally suited for post-natal recovery irrespective of prior
experience.
